Dr. Vijapura has over 35 years of experience in psychiatry, specializing in both acute and chronic mental health conditions, as well as addiction medicine. For the past 20 years, he has served as the acting Medical Director for both inpatient and outpatient care, as well as partial hospitalization programs. He offers an alternative treatment option for acute depression through TMS. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Vijapura is passionate about yoga and meditation and enjoys traveling with his family. He is also dedicated to exploring innovative approaches to treating mental illness.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) uses a targeted pulsed magnetic field, similar to what is used in an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machine. While the patient is awake and alert, NeuroStar Advanced Therapy TMS stimulates areas of the brain that are underactive in depression.

Awake and Alert
You will be fully awake and alert. You can read or watch TV and return to work after your treatment with no restrictions.

- Cannot Tolerate Medication Side Effects
- Has Failed 2 or More Medication Trials
- Ages 18-70
- Has MDD - Not FDA Cleared For Bipolar Depression, Schizoaffective Disorder, or Schizophrenia

- Received Evidence Based Talk Therapy
Contraindications
- Metallic Implants In The Head/Neck
- History of Bipolar Disorder, Seizure Disorder, or Dementia
- Implanted Medical Devices Like a Pacemaker
